In the 19th century, Charles Spurgeon, the "Prince of Preachers," had the great privilege of preaching the Word of God to thousands of people every week. God richly blessed Spurgeon's ministry and Spurgeon knew that it was a direct result of God displaying His glory by answering the prayers of the people. It was such a priority for Spurgeon, that he referred to the prayer gathering that went on during the services on Sunday as "the boiler room" that fueled the ministry of the church.
At DMC, we're eager to see a dependence on Christ displayed through regular praying together. Please consider joining us at the O'Malley's (on Jefferson Street) at 4:45 on Thursdays as our pastoral intern Zach leads through a time of study and intercession. We are presently using the book Taking Hold of God: Reformed and Puritan Perspectives on Prayer to fuel our hearts and minds in learning to pray biblically.
